Did you know that the appetising cod en papillote which you’re about to enjoy has reached your plate via several intermediaries? Renaud is an expert when it comes to this supply chain! In his first jobs, he got to know this particularly complex sector, in which the availability, quality and price of seafood can vary on a daily basis. In this fragmented market, made up by a large number of different stakeholders, products are traded in a rather old-fashioned way, including the use of last century’s good old fax machines!

This leads to the idea of creating a simple, reliable digital tool, able to connect supply and demand in real time, all whilst providing value for both sides of the supply chain: fishermen, suppliers and fish merchants on one hand, and restaurateurs, fishmongers and retailers on the other. Working with Florian, a childhood friend, both decide to embark on this project together to revolutionise “PROCurement of the SEA” – the inspiration for their company name!

ProcSea was officially founded in September 2016 in Lausanne, Switzerland! The first online marketplace to specialise in seafood for professionals is created. The solution is promising; the company has its first funding round a few months later.

We live in the world we buy into. Every day we buy products that impact our planet. Opaque supply chains are devastating environments and compromising the wellbeing of people, animals and communities. Every product and business is different, but rarely do we have the information we need to make positive choices about what to buy. Provenance is a platform that empowers brands to take steps toward greater transparency by tracing the origins and histories of products. With our technology, you can easily gather and verify stories, keep them connected to physical things and embed them anywhere online. Project Provenance began with a frustration for how little we know about the things we buy. We are now a growing collective with backgrounds in software design, product manufacturing and data science. Our base is in London, but our mission is global. Our common goal is to deliver meaningful change to commerce through open and accessible information about products and supply chains. We are a small tech startup that’s growing fast. If you share our mission for a more transparent system for commerce, and have unique skills or bucket loads of passion to contribute, email us!

To foster innovation and create tomorrow's food solutions
We use a system’s approach and design thinking methodology to approach challenges in a new way. Our solutions are resilient because environmental and social sustainability is a core decision-making factor from the beginning.

Our core team is comprised of a sustainability expert and a systems engineer, meaning that responsible innovation and tech as a force for good are part of our DNA. For each project we bring on specialists from relevant fields to ensure that our work is best-in-class. We are also building a community around our workplace because of the creative boost we get from sharing across sectors.

We created Qincho because we believe in technology, collaboration, and most importantly, we believe in better food solutions.

We create transparency for you about the manufacturers behind the goods as you eat at the restaurants and shop in the shops.

Our goal is to change the established industry-focused food system and create optimal growth conditions for small food producers. We want to increase the diversity of food and make it easy for restaurateurs to trade directly with small producers across borders. This should provide the basis for several sustainable foods created under fair working conditions, focusing on soil-to-table transparency.

Manufacturers and restaurateurs can focus on their craft by bringing together ordering, payment and delivery in our online marketplace. We create new collaborations between producers and chefs, leading to less food waste and new foods. Setting new standards of transparency for food trade, where the chefs know the manufacturer, the type of production and the amount. Provide consumers with increased knowledge of where to find manufacturers' products and how they are produced.

Resolver is a free tool to help consumers raise and resolve issues. Our goal is to help make complaining quick and easy.
Resolver in association with MoneySavingExpert.com

Resolver is working with MoneySavingExpert.com, the UK's biggest consumer advice website, bringing together their awesome campaigning power with Resolver's focus on helping consumers raise and resolve issues.

A word from Martin Lewis of MoneySavingExpert.com:

"MoneySavingExpert's aim has always been to cut your bills and fight your corner. Part of that is ensuring that when a company doesn't give you the product or service you expect, things should be put right. Yet complaining isn't always easy - they often ignore you, or fob you off with legal jargon.

"For the past decade we've used template letters to help - over 10m have been downloaded just on our PPI and bank charges reclaiming campaigns alone. The free technology Resolver provides can take this a leap further: automating the process, including drafting the letter, sending it, monitoring replies and then escalating it to an Ombudsman or key complaint body if it's not sorted.

"So we are now committed to working together. We've married Resolver's technology with our campaigning background, incorporating Resolver into MoneySavingExpert guides, even where previously we hadn't focused on 'what to do if it goes wrong' and using our templates and experience to feed into Resolver's process.

"My hope is this will make complaining for millions of people smoother and more effective - helping redress the power balance between companies and consumers." - Martin Lewis, April 2015

Making a complaint is often time-consuming and frustrating, especially if you find yourself waiting on the phone or struggling to find the right contact details.

Unlike traditional complaints procedures, Resolver guides and supports you throughout the complaints process. Our system makes recommendations on next steps and when to take them, connecting your complaint with key industry regulators and ombudsmen. Resolver helps you keep track of your complaint and stores all relevant information securely in one place.
We are NOT a claims-management company

Resolver is a free service that makes complaining more effective. We do not take a percentage of any outcome.

Unlike a claims management company, we do not act on your behalf. We empower you to get your voice heard and your issue resolved.
Our ethics

Resolver has been built by consumers, for consumers. We only treat you how we would like to be treated ourselves.

With nearly 13 million employees nationwide, the restaurant industry is one of the largest and fastest-growing private sector employers in the nation. In 2017, the restaurant industry garnered over $799 billion in sales revenue. The industry continues to grow despite the current economic crisis. Unfortunately, despite the growth and profitability of the industry, restaurant jobs provide largely low wages and little access to benefits.

The Restaurant Opportunities Centers United (ROC United) engages people who work in the industry, employers and consumers to ensure all people who work in restaurants can achieve financial independence and improve their quality of life. The ROC United model involves “surrounding the industry” by simultaneously:

(1) Engaging those who work in the restaurant industry through job training and placement (COLORS Restaurants and our CHOW job training program); leadership development and civic engagement; legal support and policy advocacy while being guided by movement leaders across the country from the National Leadership Network (NLN), which guides ROC United’s work nationally.

(2) Engaging employers through our “high road” employer association RAISE, which provides: training, technical assistance, and a peer network of like-minded employers following the high road to profitability, which includes higher wages and working conditions for those employed at their restaurants; leadership development and civic engagement opportunities; research and communications work that documents the benefits for all three stakeholders of taking the high road and more.

(3) Engaging consumers through Diners United, a conscious consumer association, We engage consumers in expressing their personal and financial support for high road restaurants and encouraging others to join RAISE and take the ‘high road. Diners United mobilizes consumers to communicate with legislators and vote for improved wages and working conditions for people who work in the industry; and support ROC‘s work.

We have thousands of members who work in the industry, over 750 restaurant owner members, and thousands of consumer members nationwide, with chapters in New York, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Washington (Seattle), California (Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area), Louisiana, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania. Workers, employers, and consumers are mobilizing for higher wages and race and gender equity through our “One Fair Wage” campaign, and for greater mobility in the industry for people of color who work in the industry through our Racial Equity Project in California.

Women represent only 19% of chefs, and 7% of head chefs, across the culinary world. Beyond that, women chefs earn 28% less in base pay than their male counterparts.

Grubhub recognized these issues and saw the need for serious change. So it started RestaurantHER to champion and support restaurants, and raise awareness about inequality in the restaurant industry and help change things for the better.

Restaurants Canada is a national, not-for-profit association representing Canada’s diverse and dynamic restaurant and foodservice industry. With more than one million employees; 80,000 locations; and 18 million customers a day, the restaurant industry is the number one source of first jobs for young people. We help build neighbourhoods, drive tourism, and fuel Canada’s agri-food production.

Restaurants Canada members comprise 30,000 businesses in every segment of the industry, including restaurants, bars, caterers, institutions and their suppliers. We work on their behalf with all levels of government in support of a strong restaurant industry that contributes jobs, investment, and a wide range of culinary choices to communities across the country.

Restaurants Canada is at the forefront of critical issues such as food safety, nutrition information and allergy awareness, through specialized training programs, information and resources. We also offer a suite of industry research, information, events, programs and discounts that keep our members informed and competitive.

Founded in 1944, we were first known as the Canadian Restaurant Association, then the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association. We celebrated our 70th anniversary by unveiling a new logo, name and tagline: Restaurants Canada, The voice of foodservice.

Restaurants Canada is also the owner of Groupex, a group buying program for independent restaurant operators. Proceeds from Groupex support our work on behalf of Canada’s restaurant industry.

Our head office is in Toronto, and we have regional offices in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal and Halifax.
